Abstract

The Carin Drechsler-Marx collection of Bowery photographs includes images of homelessness and shelter life as well as a variety of stores, theaters, music clubs, and artists' homes, providing a broad picture of Bowery life between 1972 and 1983.

Ruth Reiman Cordero graduated from the School of Art in 1946. During her time at Cooper, she facilitated the production of wartime Newsletters. This collection contains Ruth's agglomeration of wartime Newsletters and several issues of a student publication named Jabberwocky.

The IDS Public Lecture Series consists of lectures by artists, theorists, activists, designers, writers, curators and other practitioners involved in the arts from positions that embody an interdisciplinary approach or that imply new uses for disciplinary traditions. This collection contains documentation of IDS lectures hosted by Leslie Hewitt and Omar Berrada from Fall 2017-Fall 2022.

Abstract This collection documents the response of students, alumni, faculty, staff and the broader community to the 2012 announcement of The Cooper Union administration to begin charging tuition. Types of material in this collection include protest posters, pins, patches and banners; correspondence, news clippings, event announcements, informational booklets and pamphlets; and paperwork acquired and leaked during the student occupation of the President's Office.
