Scope and Contents

The Event and Exhibition Ephemera collection holds ephemera dating back to The 22nd annual Male Art Department Showcase in 1881. The collection consists of material from Senior Theses, Student Exhibitions, Alumni Exhibitions, and Presidential Inaugurations, as well as annual Cooper Union events such as Founder’s Day, Reunion Weekend, and the End of Year Show.

Biographical / Historical

The Cooper Union has exhibited student showcases since the very beginning of its establishment in 1859. These events and exhibitions are integral to the formation of relationships within the community. This collection functions as a means to trace cultural happenings at The Cooper Union through many decades.

Abstract

The Exhibition and Event Ephemera Collection consists of event invitations, showcards, flyers and posters from events held at The Cooper Union from 1881 through 2019. The collection includes materials from The School of Art, The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture, and The Albert Nerken School of Engineering. Materials are added regularly.
